No holiday in the area would be complete without a visit to some of the best beaches that Spain has to offer that are on your doorstep.  Choose between the warm surf of the Mediterranean or the calm shallow waters of the Mar Menor— a salt water lagoon joined to the Med but sheltered by the spit of land known as La Manga, making it ideal for children.  The nearest beaches are only a 15 minute drive from the resort.

 

Beaches

For the Mar Menor, we suggest the beaches of Los Alcázares and its adjoining district of Los Narechos.  These lie on a broad sweep of beautiful stone-free sand several miles long.  The beaches are normally cleaned each night, and a number have the prestigious ’blue flag’ award for outstanding cleanliness.

The nearest Mediterranean beach is at Torre de la Horadada, which is the southernmost part of the Costa Blanca, and other golden sandy beaches run north from there along the whole of that Costa.

For something more adventurous, try the beaches in the Calblanque nature reserve.  These are reached by dirt track off the La Manga motorway.
